Jesus Trusted In Perfect Outcome

Scripture Reading

John 12:13-15 (NRSVUE)

‘The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord—the King of Israel!” Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written: “Do not be afraid, daughter of Zion. Look, your king is coming, sitting on a donkey’s colt!”’

Introductory Remarks:

Jesus “set his face toward Jerusalem”, because he let go of the outcome of his visit to the Holy City. From a high state of awareness, he allowed events to unfold without his interference. He put his trust in the higher good that God, alone, reveals.

Major Points of the Lesson:

1. Like Jesus, we enter Jerusalem (habitation of peace) when we choose to let go and let God’s plan unfold.

2.  We make room for God’s plan when we:

  1. Live continuously in the awareness of our oneness with God. Trust God to be God in YOU.
  2. “Release yourself to the absolute good that God has for you in every aspect of your life.” A Closer Walk With Jesus (ACWWJ), pg. 159. Affirm: God’s will for me is always good.

Quote:

“God of all, we have arrived in Jerusalem. Blessed are we who come in the Name of the Lord.”
