Defy Your Own Odds

Scripture Reading – Romans 8:35, 37 (AMPC)

“Who shall ever separate us from Christ’s love? Shall suffering and affliction and tribulation? Or calamity and distress? Or persecution or hunger or destitution or peril or sword…Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us.”

Definitions

• Adventure:  “An unusual and exciting or daring experience.” Oxford Learner’s Dictionary
• Odds: “the chances or likelihood of something happening or being the case.”

Introductory Remarks: 

Life is meant to be an adventure. Is it? 

Decide today that you will defy all the odds, whether they are self-imposed or not. Begin now or continue to live a life of adventure, that includes overcoming all that would prevent you from living the life God designed for you. 

Major Points of the Lesson:

1. You have within you, the power to overcome all that prevents you from achieving the higher good (divine design) that God has ordained for you.
2. Adventure is all around us. We must:
   • Perceive it.
   • Prepare for it.
   • Action it.
   • Grow in it.
