Introductory Remarks

There are five purposes that form the pattern or design of the Universal Foundation for Better Living (UFBL). They are:

  • Service

  • Fellowship

  • Preaching and Teaching

  • Prayer and Healing

For 51 years (as of June 14, 2025), UFBL has remained faithful to its God-given pattern. While its expression has evolved over time, it continues to meet the needs of an ever-changing world in practical and relevant ways.

Major Points of the Lesson

  1. Every spiritual idea revealed by God is uniquely designed to express.
    The divine idea given to The Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon was no exception.

  2. The five purposes revealed to Dr. Colemon when she founded UFBL in 1974:

    • S – Serve
      Serve for the sake of service, not for reward.

    • T – Teach & Preach
      Inspire souls to awaken and release their spiritual potential.

    • A – Activate & Apply
      Apply the principles of Prayer and Healing, which align with God’s will of Absolute Good.

    • Y – Yes to Fellowship
      Embrace fellowship that nurtures community support and spiritual growth.
