Scripture Reading

Joel 2:28–29 (NRSVUE)
“…I will pour out my spirit on all flesh; your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on the male and female slaves, in those days I will pour out my spirit.”

Introductory Remarks

Dr. Johnnie Colemon was a BIG Dreamer. She taught that God places a dream in every heart.
It Works If You Work It, p. 48

“What is a dream? Our dreams are guides to the kind of person that God wants us to become, the kind of work [God] wants us to do, the kind of life [God] envisions for us.”
It Works If You Work It, p. 48

Major Points of the Lesson

  • To bring the dream into reality, we must evolve out of human consciousness (that limits itself to facts) and into spiritual consciousness (that assures us the dream is possible, despite the facts).
  • God is “forever giving and teaching us how to bring forth an abundance of every good thing.”
It Works If You Work It, p. 47 — see also Matthew 7:7.

Dreams Come True When You Realize:

  1. Dreams are from God.
  2. Dreams are possible.
  3. Dreams are more than wishful thinking.
  4. Your dream is personal to you, and possible for you.
  5. Your dream will bless you first, and others also.

Quote

“Many people think they don’t dream, but everyone does…It is God’s way of saying, ‘I have so many goodies for you. Won’t you let Me come in and express them through you? I created you and made you out of Myself, and I want you to have an abundance of every good thing. So I’m going to show it to you in pictures and in dreams and in visions.’”
