Your Word Is Your Wand

Scripture Reading

Proverbs 18:21 (AMP)

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.”

Introductory Remarks

There is power in the Spoken Word. When we speak, it is as if we wave a ‘Magic Wand’ over our lives and affairs. The words spoken ‘come alive’ in our life first, and then in the world.

As long as the WORD of God informs the words you speak, the consequences that result will work for you; not against you.

Major Points of the Lesson

  1. King Midas’ spoken request for Gold
Brought harsh consequences upon him, although initially, the consequences seemed favourable.

  2. The words we speak matter. Consider the words of these biblical characters:

    • Hannah’s spoken prayer for a son (I Sam. 1:10-11)

    • King Hezekiah’s healing word (Isaiah 38:2-3; 55:11)

    • Centurion’s request of Jesus (Matthew 8:8)

    • Apostle Paul speaks (Acts 9:40)

    • Jesus speaks and things change (Mark 4:39; John 11:43)

  3. Keep a word of prayer or positive affirmation on your lips.

‘You will also declare a thing, And it will be established for you…’
    Job 22:28 (NKJV)

“By using prosperity affirmations, you are not trying to make God give you anything. You are only trying to open your mind to receive the abundance [God] has already given you!”
– Catherine Ponder
