Scripture Reading
“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by worrying can add a single hour to your span of life?”
Matthew 6:25-27 (NRSVUE)
Definition:
Perspective:- a particular attitude towards or way of regarding something; a point of view.
Introductory Remarks:
Every life experience is viewed through an individual perspective. Even when it appears that everyone shares similar perspectives, it is still a perspective. Our perspective therefore helps to bring forth the good desires of our heart or stagnate them. Delay, worry, fear and anxiety, order, trust, love and good expectation are all available perspectives. What perspectives have you been choosing?
Major Points of the Lesson:
1. The perspective you hold is based on Evidence or Experience – yours or somebody else’s.
2. Our responsibility is to choose a GOOD/GOD perspective in order to impact the quality of our life experience. 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV) “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
3. The Good/God perspectives are:
a. LIFE – the idea in Divine Mind of activity functioning as health, wholeness and energy.
b. LOVE – the idea in Divine Mind of universal oneness that binds, attracts, cements, harmonizes and functions as devoted service, kindness, compassion, attraction, harmony, order and magnetism.
c. WISDOM – The idea in Divine Mind of orderly knowledge functioning as intelligence, inspiration, instinct.
d. SUBSTANCE – The idea in Divine Mind of perfect form functioning as body, abundance, light, sound, food, trees, air building etc.
e. POWER – The idea in Divine Mind of mastery, authority and dominion functioning as formative thought, energy, reserved strength, moving force and vitality.
4. In order to manifest your good, align yourself with a God perspective and let it lead you from idea to demonstration. Eg. God is Life, I am Health, I am Whole, I am Energy!
Quote:
GOD IS: I AM.
The Rev. Dr. Johnnie Colemon – “It Works If You Work It” Part V, Prayer Works.
“The answer to whatever it is you are seeking or looking for already exists, but you lack understanding. It already is. But we do not express it, demonstrate it or manifest it because we lack understanding of how to do it. We cannot understand or accept that God is personally available to each one of us. We have been taught that “I’ve got to jump up and run over here and get Miss So-and-So or Mr. So-and-So or Reverend So-and-So to pray for me”. Nobody can pray FOR you. We can pray WITH you. But don’t be fooled into thinking that someone can pray for you. Nobody can pray for you, but you. You’ve got a personal God. And sometimes when you pray you don’t need a whole lot of words. Prayer is more than words, it is a deep feeling. When you are really in touch, you don’t have to even open your mouth. Know with confidence that whatever the need, it’s already done. The answer is already there. What you must do is get your nothingness out of the way, and just simply let God take care of it. He knows what needs to be done and how to do what needs to be done.”
ASSIGNMENT: Examine your perspective in the areas of life that seem challenging to see if there is complete alignment with Good/God. Make the necessary adjustments in each area.
