Happiness Is Living for Me and We

Scripture Reading

John 13:34 (NRSVUE)

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.”

Ephesians 4:32 (NRSVUE)

Introductory Remarks:

There are 59 to 100 references to ‘One Another’ in the Christian Scriptures (New Testament), depending on the version of scripture one uses. “These verses generally emphasize themes of love, community, and mutual support… particularly in the contexts of: Loving one another, Serving one another, Encouraging one another, and Forgiving one another.” www.Poe.com.

Major Points of the Lesson:

  1. “Each and every one of us brings something different and valuable to our collective experiences. Each and everyone of us has our own unique form of greatness.” Pg. 49, Live Happy text.
  2. When we lean into the gifts of each other, synergy swirls, allowing new possibilities to emerge. “This level of cooperation and collaboration enables the collective to do more than what an individual [does]..on their own.” Pg. 49, Live Happy text.
  3. When we minimize or diminish one person or group of people in favor of another or others, we deny the synergistic possibilities of the ‘WE’ and limit ourselves to what is possible for ‘ME’.

Quote:

“A great deal of intention is necessary for everyone to work together to create new possibilities.”
Pg. 49, Live Happy text.
