Forgive and THRIVE

Scripture Reading

Matthew 6:14-16 (AMPC)“For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.”

Introductory Remarks:

To forgive is a decision you make to cleanse or purify yourself of any pollutants that ‘separate’ you from the goodness of God, including the spiritual inheritance that is your birthright.

As you purify YOUR inward parts, you give toxic feelings/energy a ‘Pass’ to exit your life, world, and affairs.

Major Points of the Lesson:

  1. Gain an understanding of what Forgiveness Is and what it Is NOT.
  2. Forgiveness is for YOU, not them.
  3. Jesus reminds us that forgiveness is not a one-time event.

‘Then Peter came and said to him, “Lord, if my brother or sister sins against me, how often should I forgive? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “Not seven times, but, I tell you, seventy-seven times.”

Matthew 18:21-22 (NRSVUE)
