Scripture Reading
“So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.”
Galatians 6:9 (NRSVUE)
Introductory Remarks:
Wise Sowers don’t sow for a day, they sow for a lifetime. They understand that every seed sown can demonstrate in a multitude of ways, including ways not imagined. It is therefore unwise to say, ‘I am sowing but I am not reaping.’
Major Points of the Lesson:
- Sowers sow seeds in consciousness and the very seeds sown are the evidence of what has yet to appear.
- When you judge your ability to reap by appearances, your vision is short-sighted and you place limits on your demonstration.
- Ultimately, Wise Sowers lean into the guidance of the All Intelligence of the Holy Spirit for the direction of their sowing.
Quotes:
“Sow the good seed, not for what you can get but for who you are as a Child of God.”
Sheila R. McKeithen
“Don’t be so shortsighted that if it doesn’t happen right now, you’re not going to be happy. You are sowing seeds that will reap a great harvest for generations to come.”
Joel Osteen
ASSIGNMENT:
In your daily prayer time, ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in sowing the good seed. Sow, sow, and sow some more. Your sowing will produce its own rewards. So, don’t give up.
