An Invitation to Connect Deeply & Live Victoriously

Scripture Reading

John 15:16 (VOICE)

“You did not choose Me. I chose you, and I orchestrated all of this so that you would be sent out and bear great and perpetual fruit. As you do this, anything you ask the Father in My name will be done.”

Introductory Remarks:
Jesus has extended an invitation for you to walk with him over the next 40 days. It will be ‘a period of reflection and release, making way for an abundant new plan’…[that] ‘extends beyond us, enveloping our communities and the world with the fruits of our labor and love.’ Will you answer the call? (A Closer Walk With Jesus (ACWJ), pgs. 20-22 and Unity 2025 Lenten Guide, pg. 7.)

Major Points of the Lesson:

1. To accept an invitation requires a willingness to leave ‘where you are’ for ‘where you can go’ and to ‘leave what is’ for ‘what can be’.

2. A positive reply to the invitation may lead you to confront the appearance of obstacles. Even so, the overcoming power of God within will see you through. Read John 16:33.

3. Should you refuse the invitation, it will ‘circle back’ to you, again and again, until it is accepted. God loves you and never gives up on you. Read Isaiah 43:1.

Quote:

“To walk with Jesus is…to learn more about your Christ self…[how to live comfortably in your divinity]; to learn how to build positive relationships between family members and friends; and how to strengthen …[the bonds of love] between peoples and nations of the world.”

ACWJ, pg. 6

Task:

Choose to accept the invitation and walk with Jesus for the duration of the Lenten Season. Your life and the world will be better because of your “YES”.
