Reset & Get In Shape to Seize Your Destiny
I pray that all is well with you and your family, business and community. One thing I have learned is that God’s blessings abound all the time. Therefore, our task is to recognize and accept the many blessings that are in our midst. Daily, I pray: ‘Open my eyes that I may see, the good you’ve already given to me.’ I’m continually affirming that every good and perfect good is yours now and always because your good (in every form) is in the midst.
Today marks the close of our Physical Adventure. Were you able to adopt any new physical habits that support you in your destiny? I did not implement as many habits as I would have liked, but I have begun. For that, I am grateful.
Tomorrow begins our 5th week of the 2020 Adventure in Faith Series. Last Sunday I preached the lesson: Reset and Get In Shape to Seize Your Destiny. In that lesson, we were asked some powerful questions. The one question that stuck with me was from page 103 of the text, Destiny: Step Into Your Purpose by T. D. Jakes:
‘What if your gift carried you to a place where your [body] will not keep you?’
I know this question caused many to pause and simply exercise a bit of self-care. Let’s accept that we each have an important contribution to make in life. Therefore, we must take care of our mind and bodies if we are to complete the race we now run.
It’s okay to take radical steps in creating new habits that support you in refining and re-shaping your body temple. Craft your own fitness plan and implement it. I didn’t say it would be easy, but it is doable. Get started with your plan without delay.
Refuse to equate rest and relaxation with laziness. Remember, Ecclesiastes 3 reminds us that there is a time and place for everything under the sun. We must take time to relax and rejuvenate and then take time to work and plant new dreams. Remember: ‘Find ways to rest your body and
mind from day-to-day stress.’ T. D. Jakes, pg. 104
As we step into our Relational Adventure tomorrow, Sunday, November 8, 2020, remember the colour is Pink. The guest presenter tomorrow is Rev.
