How BIG Is YOUR God?
Scripture: “I am the Lord, the God of every person on the earth. Nothing is impossible for me.” Jeremiah 32:27 NRSV
Affirm: There are no limits to the health, wealth, and happiness that I can experience because I have a big God.
Dear Prosperity Partners and Friends,
I give thanks for each of you. Please remember to take care of yourself and stay hydrated. At the same time, stay in touch with family and friends. Every time I sit to write this newsletter, I am reminded how blessed to have an audience with whom to share spiritual insights.
All week long, I found myself singing the song that Ackeria and the music team sang after Sunday’s sermon. Just the thought of the ‘bigness’ of God has shifted aspects of my life. I pray that shifts are happening for you also. The universal spiritual principles of Truth really do work and they work all the time.
For 48 years the Universal Foundation for Better Living’s (UFBL) has unapologetically shared that God lives in YOU and is not separate from YOU! God is as BIG as you can conceive and believe. God doesn’t change, but our concept of God changes all the time.
Here are Major Points of the Lesson:
- ‘Who is God to me?’ We can answer this question from the space of what religious dogma proclaims or from what our ‘lived experience’ has revealed. ‘You’ve got a big God, waiting to supply you with as much as you can hold. Expand your mind and Think Big!’ Johnnie Colemon’s, It Works If You Work It, pg. 19.
Dr. Colemon declared again and again that we each have a ‘BIG’ God. Yet her declaration is not enough. We must declare and accept for ourselves that God as Spirit, is all there is. There is none greater than God. There is no fact of life that supersedes God. So, ‘Who is God to you?’
- Jesus’ words to the Samaritan Woman at the well reveal that ‘God is Spirit.’ Not in some places, but all places; not for some people but for all people.
God is not limited to places, certain people, specific dogma, or your timing. Neither is God limited to the many boxes we put God in. You made the box. God made you. Let’s not worship the box, but worship God. God is Bigger than the boxes we confine God to. Pray: ‘God, help me to tear down my boxes.’
- Big God demonstrations happened for Jesus because he had a Big Understanding of God’s Power, Presence and Wisdom. How Big is YOUR Understanding of God?
Jesus understood God to be Omnipresence —all the presence there is. See Psalm 139:7
Jesus understood God to be Omnipotence – all the power there is and ever will be. His understanding enabled him to speak calming words to the raging sea (Mark 4:39).
Lastly, Jesus understood God to be Omniscience – all the knowledge there is and ever will be. He understood that Judas would betray him to the Roman authorities (John 13:27).
Since God is Spirit, why not trust that God is BIG enough to heal you, feed you, house you, provide for you and bless you?
Trust that God is BIGGER than what you seem to face; bigger than what they said about you; bigger than what you think of you; and bigger than what you currently want for you.
Today, know God is bigger than it all.
Let’s pray:
Dear God, Your Spirit makes me whole. Your power makes me bold. Your presence makes us one. Your wisdom makes me wise. Realizing that this is the absolute truth, I surrender to the awesome and amazing plans that You have for my life. I accept them. I see them fulfilled beginning now. Praise God. Amen.
Quote to Ponder:
‘…Jesus was not ashamed to claim His oneness and sameness with God. He acknowledged the presence and power of God in everything He did…God is Spirit– everywhere, evenly present.’
