Better Living Invites You to Forgive
Scripture Reading
Mark 11:25
“When you pray, if you remember anyone who has wronged you, forgive him [or her] so that God…can also forgive you”
Introductory Remarks:
Forgiveness is a core teaching in the major religions of the world. The word ‘forgiveness’ in its many variations appears more than 100 times in the Holy Bible. This fact alone indicates that ‘forgiveness’ is essential to your spiritual walk.
For 52 years, UFBL has taught that God’s will is health, happiness, and prosperity for YOU and all people everywhere. A spiritual practice of forgiveness will lead you to the healthier, happier, and more prosperous life that God wants for you.
Major Points of the Lesson:
The pure in heart see God, according to Jesus. (Matthew 5:8). Purity of heart is equal to ‘cleanliness’ of heart. Forgiveness is the cleanser.
Forgiveness is a choice you make. If you carry unforgiveness, that is your choice, not God’s. Unforgiveness won’t put you in the presence of God’s blessings.
Forgiveness is not a one-time act, but a continuous act of release so that you remain ‘pure or clean’ in your heart, enabling you to live in God’s presence, experiencing God’s goodness. (See Matthew 18:21-22).
Quote:
“If you have been offended, you cannot wait for an apology before you forgive…Start the forgiveness process immediately…The other persons may have done something wrong that was offensive [or criminal]...but…We are the ones crying. We are the ones in pain. We are the ones affecting our bodies in unhealthy ways. We can have our health or a grudge. We can enjoy prosperity or create an enemy. It’s our choice.” Before You Pray Forgive pg. 17-18.
