Better Living For Fathers & Father-Figures

“Then if you [an earthly parent] know how to give good gifts to your children, even though you [miss the mark], how much more will your [Spiritual Parent] give good gifts to those who ask…!”
Introductory Remarks:
Biblical language highlights the importance of the role of parents in the raising of children. Today, around the world and within the UFBL, we celebrate fathers for the guidance they give, the love they share, and the wisdom they knowingly and unknowingly impart to children and others.
The UFBL Statements of Faith fully support fathers and parents in general, as well as every soul, in living in relationship with the God Presence and in being a blessing to their family and the family of humanity.
Major Points of the Lesson:
To lead the children as God directs, fathers and father-figures must know and demonstrate that God’s will of absolute good is accessible and available at all times. (UFBL Statements 1-3)
To impart God’s wisdom to the children, fathers and father-figures must understand Jesus’ message that thoughts impact life experience; and love, receptivity to the Holy Spirit, and generosity matter. (UFBL Statements 4-7)
The greatest love that a parent can model for a child is their love of God, love of self, and love of others. (UFBL Statements 8-9)

ASSIGNMENT:
This week, pause and bless the father(s) or father figure(s) that helped to shape you into who you have become and are becoming. If it is possible for you to physically reach out to them, do so. Do it for you. Do it as an act that moves you forward to becoming who God wants you to be.
